what’s the saddest part. The old patriarchal way of thinking that allows him to believe that is ok to talk about a woman (or anybody) like that. The narcissistic lack of empathy that makes him refer to another human being as a used car. Or the entitlement that makes him think that is appropriate to share these type of “opinions” with those around him. Whatever it is, people like him will keep talking, offending, gaslighting and manipulating until WE stand up against it. It’s on us to say no. It’s on us to turn around and just leave when somebody objectifies or body shame a woman (or a man). It’s on us to point out the ignorance and the violence behind it. If you like me were called flabby, fake skinny or in any way made feel inadequate, please do not let others people opinion dictate the way you perceive yourself. Your body is a miracle. Whatever shape it is. @hannahshaller I see a warrior now when I look at a woman who’s left a relationship for herself. - I didn’t understand how much strength

it took to do that until my last uncoupling. I didn’t know how hard it was to leave when you aren’t numbing the pain. I’d never done it sober before. I’d never known heartbreak without crutch. I hadn’t been in but a couple other lengthy relationships in my early twenties, so this felt... different. I was different. - Maybe that was the problem to begin with. I was changing and growing and with that came wants and needs evolving as well. Changing right in front of my eyes, i was witnessing my own evolution as an innocent bystander, no ability to stop that even if I’d wanted to. I couldn’t stay stagnant for a relationship. Stagnancy was a familiar enemy i knew well from my past, one that had just about killed me, so when i saw a glimpse of such a monster in the distance, i made a choice. I had to save myself before i was ruined. So i did. I saved myself. - And in doing that i lost things, humans, animals, and a life I’d done everything to create. All things i knew i couldn’t hold onto after i burned it all down. - Ashes i held in my hands and allowed to slip through my fingers as i bellowed to the heavens in grief and despair. Why? I asked. Why must i create everything I’ve ever wanted just to grow into someone else who no longer wants what i worked so hard for? And in that moment the clouds parted, and the light of Spirit peered straight into my soul and i felt a warm sensation come over my entire body like being wrapped in a blanket and held. The universe was cradling my broken body, wrecked with pain from the decision I’d been forced to make, she whispered something to me that I’ll never forget; “It’ll lead you to where you’re meant to go. We all must traverse the darkest depths if we wish to see the brightest days.” - When i opened my eyes i was still warm, in my bed, all alone. - The words echoed inside me and for first time i understood i could fight my souls path no longer. This journey was made for me, and so i had to walk it. - aloyoga Purple Dusk

bullying and drama a safe place where I was completely present & at one with my body. I was never focused on my appearance or my flaws in that moment just grateful for how my body carried me deep into every move. Dancing taught me discipline, trust & self love in such a special way & introduced me to my best friend too.. I sometimes dream to just pick up where I left off...🌙 In the studio, always in alo 💜
